The stlouisfeed on Twitter linked to an interesting story on STLToday.com.  A United Nations Environment Report has identified "plastic as the most pervasive form of ocean litter."  An estimated 90 billion bags go unrecycled each year.  There is a worldwide movement to ban plastic bags with China as the current leader.  San Francisco stands alone as the only US city banning bags.  Los Angeles is set to institute a ban in 2010.
